RE-IMAGINING STAIRS

Looking at the following examples, I'm even more convinced the humble stairway can serve as an excellent outlet for creativity.

H&M Home Launch | UXUS BLOG

In collaboration with the H&M design team, UXUS was invited to create the launch for the H&M Home Collection at their headquarters in Stockholm.
The approach was to create a “gallery” of fun fashion home products which customers are encouraged to touch and explore.

H&M Home is a gallery/showroom using highly emotional product presentations, which verge on art, to encourage customers to engage with the brand.

The first installation, “Home Reflections” imagines the world through a looking glass, and explores our ever-changing relationship between identity and style.

A combination of mirrors and suspended furniture creates an exhibition that reflects our eclectic taste of today.

Hirzberger Events - Digital Wallpaper

Once in a while it is nice to not work on a commercial project and have the freedom of doing whatever you want. Fortunately the people at Büro Hirzberger hirzbergerevents.com were totally open to whatever we presented them to decorate parts of their office space in Vienna.

My fellow co-workers at Strukt Design Studio came up with this digital wallpaper, using 2 projectors to map an entire wall and using VVVV to do the deskewing and to generate the content.

The Popcorn Makers: Disturb Me - The White Hotel

Disturb Me - 05/17/08 - The White Hotel

“Disturb Me” is an interactive installation between human and his environment. It is to make perceptible the reciprocal links and often forgotten contact, that we maintain with our environment.

The projection depends on the sound emitted by the spectators and creates consequently, a transitory and colored environment. The projected forms are revealed when in contact with surfaces of the room.

The senses are awakened, the room becomes alive.

Poketo x Kitsune Noir: Spacetime Wall Art Decals

A collaboration between Poketo and Kitsune Noir, Spacetime wall decals add otherworldly pizazz to blank walls with the artistic touch of designs by Mike Perry (pictured at right), Damien Correll (below left), Cody Hudson (below right) and Andy J. Miller. The decals reimagine each artist's original work, playfully interpreting it as restickable home accents.

Rounding out the playful collection, Poketo used the accomplished group's spaced-out illustrations to create a range of signature wallets and t-shirts.

The collaboration, the latest in the L.A.-based brand's popular series, marks new territory for a small business that, since 2004, has put out too many numerous limited edition designer products to count. Sold in their online shop (starting today for $48, tees and wallets run less), museum gift shops such as the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, MCA Chicago and Museum of Contemporary Art Barcelona will also carry Spacetime. Each pack includes four sheets, with one sheet by each artist.

And I’m sleeping on a jet plane? | Design Tavern

Getting stranded in an airport overnight is a real drag (trust me, it just happened to me recently) but imagine if this airport also offered some seriously interesting sleeping accommodations right next door, not so bad anymore? Well, that is exactly what has happened at Stockholm’s Arlanda airport. Parked directly in front of the airport is the Jumbo Hostel, the world’s first hostel on a plane. The double-decker 1976 Boeing 747-200 comes fashioned with a lounge, cafe, and 25 rooms to sleep in -ranging from your usual hostel-style bunk beds to a “fancy” private cockpit suite.
